Margaret Pound Cake Preparation Ingredients and Spices:
- 5 eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup butter
- 2 soft butter sticks
- 3 cups flour for all uses
- 3 cups sugar
- A pinch of salt
- 2 tablespoons vanilla
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
Steps to making Margarita cake
- Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
- Mix butter, ghee and sugar.
- Add one egg at a time, stirring well after each one.
- Add vanilla extract. (You can use the extra flavors you want. I've used lemons and walnuts and they taste great!)
- In another bowl, mix the flour, salt, and baking powder well.
- Periodically with the milk, add the flour mixture to the cream mixture, adding well after each one.
- Grease in the oven and in a floured tube or bowl for 1 hour for 15 minutes
